Yuma buys Belgian data and AI consultancy B12 Consulting

In its second deal this year in Belgium, digital transformation group Yuma has acquired B12 Consulting.

The addition of B12 Consulting adds a team of around 45 data scientists to Yuma, lifting its headcount to over 650 staff in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Founded in 2012, B12 Consulting is an IT consulting firm specialised in data science, artificial intelligence, and software services. The company from Louvain-la-Neuve works for clients of all sizes and in multiple sectors, including health, mobility, energy, industry, automotive, and pharma.

Pascal Laffineur, CEO of Yuma, said that the arrival of B12 Consulting will add important and in-demand capabilities to Yuma’s network. “B12 Consulting is one of Belgium’s foremost actors in artificial intelligence and data,” he said.

The work they did to improve the development of mRNA vaccines or to pro-actively monitor the Brussels tram infrastructure are just two examples of this. Backed by private equity firm M80, Yuma has the ambition to become one of “the leading players” in Europe’s digital transformation market. The company was created by the coming together of four companies in the summer of 2023, with Aprico Consultants joining the group in March this year.
