Accenture acquires Camelot Management Consultants
Global consulting giant Accenture has agreed to acquire Camelot Management Consultants, a technology consulting firm based in Germany.
Working out of offices in Germany, the US, the UAE, and India, Camelot Management Consultants is an international SAP-specialized firm that offers its clients services mostly related to supply chains and data and analytics.
The firm’s expertise in supply chain management and analytics will serve as a boost to Accenture’s ability to reinvent the supply chains of its clients. In addition, Camelot’s expertise in data and analytics will add to Accenture’s offerings in AI adoption services.
This is one of many acquisitions made by Accenture this year, including several recent deals in Europe. For instance, Accenture recently acquired an Italian telecom-focused firm called Fibermind, one of several deals in Italy.
Camelot is a leading SAP partner in Europe, with an impressive portfolio of clients in a wide range of industries. The firm has around 700 highly qualified professionals with expertise in SAP, data, and supply chains.
So, what is SAP? SAP is a leading global provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and related applications that enables businesses to manage their operations and customer relations more effectively. The company’s software solutions integrate various business functions (like finance, human resources, supply chain, and sales) into a unified system.
Accenture is one SAP’s top consulting and technology partners globally. It support clients across the full suite of SAP domains and technologies.
Much like many other major consulting firms, Accenture has also been moving to buy up firms that specialize in AI, thereby beefing up their AI offerings. Besides making AI-related acquisitions, Accenture has also been spending big on their own homegrown AI practice: Last year the firm invested $3 billion into AI research and development.
But Accenture is turning to inorganic growth to grow in every direction, and focus is certainly not only on SAP and AI, nor only in Europe. Some other notable recent Accenture acquisitions include a deal to buy Brazilian creative agency Soko, a Washington, DC-based IT consultancy Incapsulate, and the firm is even dabbling in edtech with the acquisition of Udacity, a Silicon Valley-based digital education company.
