Giambattista Taglioni joins Oliver Wyman's Insurance practice

Global strategy and management consultancy firm Oliver Wyman has strengthened its partner team in Italy with Giambattista Taglioni.

Appointed a senior partner, Giambattista Taglioni is a member of the firm’s Insurance & Asset Management practice, based out of Milan – one of Oliver Wyman’s two offices in Italy.

With over 30 years of experience under his belt, Taglioni is responsible for building out the practice, focused on the development of key client accounts, spearheading the launch of new offerings, and leading the delivery of projects at existing clients.

“The insurance sector is undergoing significant transformation, driven by recent developments in new technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as increased volatility resulting from climate change and the geopolitical landscape. I am looking forward to contributing to an already excellent team that combines distinctive expertise in strategic and actuarial work,” said Taglioni.

On several domains, such as risk management and climate change, Oliver Wyman works together with fellow Marsh McLennan businesses Marsh, Mercer, and Guy Carpenter to provide an end-to-end offering. “In collaboration with the group’s other businesses, we are uniquely positioned to provide concrete answers to the major challenges that the insurance sector will face in the coming years.”

Taglioni brings over 30 years of experience in the consulting industry to Oliver Wyman, most recently having been based in the United States as senior partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). During his time at BCG, he served as the Global Head of Property & Casualty Insurance practice, supporting insurance companies, banks, and asset managers in over 500 strategic projects and performance improvements.

He began his career as a consultant in 1993 at McKinsey & Company, where he stayed for 24 years, reaching the position of senior partner. In addition, he helped found McKinsey’s Risk practice and was Risk Leader for its Insurance practice, leader of its Insurance practice in Italy, and Chair of the Risk People Committee.
