Halo Dot taps consultancy firm for European market expansion
Halo Dot, a contactless payment solution startup, has announced a new collaboration with PaymentGenes, which will support the South Africa-born startup continue on its European growth journey.
The technology provided by Halo Dot allows merchants to accept payments on any mobile device through SoftPOS technology, which is an innovative point of sale software. The fintech’s modular software can according to Halo Dot transform any device into a secure point-of-sale terminal without the need for additional hardware.
Having initially expanded into Europe in 2022, Halo Dot is now seeking to accelerate its growth on the continent. That ambition is being worked on in collaboration with PaymentGenes, which has been brought on board as a strategic partner tasked with creating a comprehensive roadmap for growth in the European market.
The consultancy will help to identify key growth verticals and use cases, developed a targeted go-to-market plan, and provide additional services such as recruitment (delivered by its executive search arm) to fill key positions.

Though cash payments still remain relatively common in Europe, digital and contactless payments are on the rise. The UK, France, and Spain are the European countries where contactless payment is most preferred over cash.
