Jorge Gilabert to co-lead Travel, Hospitality & Leisure practice of Alvarez & Marsal
Alvarez & Marsal has welcomed Jorge Gilabert to its team, appointing the senior expert as Managing Director and co-lead of its Travel, Hospitality & Leisure practice in Europe.
Based out of Spain, Jorge Gilabert co-leads the Travel, Hospitality & Leisure practice together with Ed Bignold, who is based in London. Gilabert brings more than 15 years of experience in the industry to the role, gained at Monitor Deloitte and PwC.
During his dozen years at Monitor Deloitte, Gilabert spearheaded strategic projects for hotel, restaurants, travel agencies, airlines, fashion, consumer goods and retail companies. His track record includes leading major business turnarounds, profitability improvement, financial restructuring, brand repositioning, and operational transformation. He has also successfully led several M&A processes, both pre-deal (commercial due diligence) and post-deal (post-merger integration).
Most notably, he has worked closely with Federico Gonzalez during his CEO roles at NH Hotels, Radisson Hotels, and Louvre Hotel Group, playing a pivotal role in their strategic transformations. Gilabert has also led strategic planning for Spanish tourism and several international hospitality projects across luxury, budget, and resort hotel segments.
“The hospitality, travel and leisure sector is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by shifts in traveller behaviour, advancing technologies, and changing global dynamics. Despite contributing 10% to global GDP, the sector’s potential remains underappreciated,” said Gilabert.
“My vision is to help the sector close this gap by creating and recognizing enterprise value for current and future leaders. Alvarez & Marsal is uniquely positioned to unlock value in this evolving landscape, and I’m excited to work with the team to help clients seize opportunities and drive long-term growth.”
