KPMG installs Fabiano Gobbo as new Advisory leader for EMEA region
Big Four firm KPMG has appointed the Italian Fabiano Gobbo as the new Advisory leader for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The 30-year KPMG veteran will lead the firm’s EMEA business out of Milan, where he is based. With the exception of an early three-year spell at Accenture, Fabiano Gobbo has been with KPMG his entire career, growing the ranks to partner, Head of Advisory for the Italian business, and Global Leader of the Risk and Regulatory offering.
Throughout his career, Gobbo has delivered a broad range of consulting engagements, with a focus on strategic risk management and compliance within the financial services industry. He has collaborated closely with major domestic and international financial institutions, delivering insights into strategic risk management initiatives, internal models, capital optimization, and model governance.
In his new role, he will oversee the firm’s full Advisory portfolio, which spans services ranging from strategy, mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance, through to organization, restructuring, regulation, transformations in finance and human resources, and technology.
Commenting on the news, Mario Corti, Senior Partner of KPMG in Italy, said the appointment marks an important milestone for the Italian member firm. “This is a highly prestigious appointment for us, that will allow the Italian Advisory team to further consolidate its already leading position within KPMG’s international network.”
In Italy, KPMG has around approximately 6,000 professionals working from 25 offices throughout the country. Globally, the company has more than 273,000 professionals in 140+ countries.
