In its third deal in Italy this year, Accenture has acquired IQT Group, a provider of engineering consulting and managed services for large infrastructure projects.

Based in Rovigo, IQT Group focuses on designing and supervising infrastructure projects for electricity generation and transmission. The company works closely with utility providers, helping both private and public organizations build and modernize integrated electricity and water networks. IQT Group also supports industrial and commercial groups with optimising the energy efficiency of their sites, and manages networks for telecom operators.

As part of the deal, IQT Group’s more than 450 consultants and engineers will join Accenture’s infrastructure and capital projects practice within Industry X.

“The acquisition of IQT Group further strengthen our position in Italy by enhancing our engineering expertise and the services related to the implementation of strategic and net-zero infrastructure projects. Our teams aim to support public and private companies in the utilities, energy and telecommunications sectors with digital tools to make their projects more efficient and productive,” said Teodoro Lio, CEO of Accenture in Italy.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Earlier this year, Accenture’s Italian business also bought Fibermind, a network services company, and Intellera Consulting, a public sector consulting firm. Meanwhile, in 2023, the firm purchased Ammagamma, a consulting company specialised in artificial intelligence solutions.

The latest deal builds on Accenture’s string of acquisitions worldwide aimed at expanding its infrastructure and capital projects capability. This includes Anser Advisory (US), Comtech (Canada) and Boslan (Spain).

“Our expertise in engineering services for electricity, water and telecommunications infrastructure and industrial and commercial sites combined with Accenture’s global reach and digital capabilities, will allow us to expand our services and offer even greater value to our clients,” said Andrea Cavecchia, CEO of IQT Group.
