Iris Grewe installed as President of Germany’s consulting association BDU
Iris Grewe, a board member at BearingPoint, has been installed as the new President of the BDU, which is Germany’s national association for management consultancy firms.
Formally appointed in December last year, Iris Grewe has assumed her new role effective today, leading one of Europe’s most important associations for consulting firms. Since its foundation in 1954, the BDU (Bundesverband Deutscher Unternehmensberatungen) represents the German consulting industry, which employs over 220,000 people and generates more than €43 billion in sales.
Grewe has been a member of the BDU’s executive board for two years in the role of Vice President. She succeeds Ralf Strehlau, who spent the past eight years as President and has decided to step down. Grewe leads a six-person executive team, which further consists of Ricarda Memel, Klaus Neuhäuser, Wolfram Tröger Harald Fortmann and Bernhard Braunmüller.
Commenting on her main goals, Grewe said: “For the BDU, it is important to strengthen the visibility and value of our profession, to increase the attractiveness of ‘Consulting Made in Germany’, and to ensure the continued development of our industry.”
In her daily job, Grewe is a top leader a BearingPoint, a €1 billion company specialised in management and technology consulting services.
She has been with the firm for over 25 years, among others serving as Chair of its German business since 2018. She also is a member of BearingPoint’s Global Management Committee, overseeing the Germany-Switzerland-Austria and Asia-Pacific regions, and responsible for the firm’s global consulting ecosystem.
