Magnus Energy launches new office in Brussels

Pan-European consulting firm Magnus Energy has launched a new office in Brussels, which becomes the company’s fifth office in Europe.

Headquartered in the Netherlands, Magnus Energy is a consultancy firm dedicated to the energy sector, supporting companies throughout the energy transition. Its key services include business & technology consulting, complex program management, energy modelling & analytics, and regulatory & strategic advice.

The new hub in Brussels, the firm’s third in the Benelux, comes in response to growing opportunities to offer its expertise in the Belgian market, and enables its team to operate in closer proximity to various clients in the area, said Alexander van der Mark, managing director of Magnus Energy.

New hire Bob Hebb will lead the new hub. He brings 25 years of experience in the energy landscape to the firm. Hebb previously worked on several projects focused on the cross-border exchange of balancing energy, such as IGCC, Mari, and Picasso. On behalf of a Belgian transmission system operator, he was also involved in drafting the European Guideline on Balancing.

More recently, Hebb worked at Coreso, a Regional Coordination Centre (RCC) that coordinates high-voltage electricity flows for European transmission system operators to support them in ensuring the security of electricity supply on a European regional basis. In his role, he led a 40-person team and oversaw activities for multiple capacity calculation regions such as CORE, SWE, and Italy-North.

Leveraging his knowledge and experience, Hebb said he looks forward to establish and build out Magnus Energy’s hub in Brussels. “I love to innovate and build new things. Magnus Energy is one of the leaders in the field, and their culture embodies my approach – ambitious, pragmatic, and open-minded. I’m thrilled to come on board.”

Magnus Energy’s five offices are based in Naarden, Utrecht, Vienna, Cologne and Brussels.
