PA Consulting appoints Ruud Ummels as European leader of Airport practice

PA Consulting has appointed Ruud Ummels as the new leader of its European Airport service line.
The Dutchman brings over 20 years of consulting experience in aviation and an extensive network in the industry to PA Consulting. He previously led the European division of To70, a specialist aviation consultancy with offices worldwide. He also held various roles at the industry association Airports Council International.
In his new role, he leads PA Consulting’s portfolio and offerings for airports, one of the service lines within its Aviation practice.
Kata Cserep, global head of the Aviaton practice, said that the arrival of Ummels will provide a boost to the firm’s growth plans in the airports segment. PA Consulting already has a track record of advising and support airports in mainly the UK and the Netherlands, and is seeking to grow its presence in the segment and expand its offering to new markets.
“Our team creates opportunities from the complexity that the industry is facing today,” said Cserep. “This includes advice on strategy, restructuring and delivering more value from aviation investments, driving operational efficiency for reliable service, technology-driven asset management and the implementation of passenger services and maintenance operations. Ruud’s arrival strengthens our position in this important segment of the aviation sector.”
Ummels noted, “I look forward to working with the professionals at PA Consulting and expanding our end-to-end airport transformation services within the European market.”
