HR Path expands HR-IT footprint in Swiss market with smahrt consulting

In its third European deal this year, HR Path has acquired smahrt consulting, a Swiss company specializing in HR-IT consulting and implementation services.
Founded in 2007, smahrt consulting supports its clients with the setup and implementation of human capital management (HCM) systems, with a focus on the SAP domain (SAP SuccessFactors and SAP HCM). The team is around 60-strong based out of an office in Regensdorf.
Commenting on the acquisition, Ato Anderson, partner at HR Path, said: “With smahrt consulting joining HR Path, we are establishing a new powerhouse in the Swiss HR-IT landscape, combining depth of experience with a shared commitment to excellence. Together, we are expanding our service offering while unlocking exciting new opportunities for our clients and our people.”
HR Path was Paris established in 2001 in France. Today, the company has more than 2,000 staff in 25 countries, mainly in Europe, but also in North America and Asia. In 2024, HR Path generated a turnover of €250 million.
The Paris-headquartered company supports HR leaders with the full lifecycle of their digital transformation, from strategic advisory and vendor selection through to implementation, technology and managed services.
“Having worked closely with Swiss clients and partners for years, I know that the value smahrt consulting brings goes beyond expertise,” said Angelo Gallo, a Switzerland-based partner at HR Path. “Their approach is practical, pragmatic, and people-oriented. We’re not just combining two companies; we're bringing together teams that are genuinely interested in making HR better. I’m excited about the journey ahead in the Swiss market.”
“Joining forces with HR Path opens up new opportunities for us in the market, in our product portfolio, and in the personal development of our employees,” commented Tom Pustina, Managing Director of smahrt consulting.
The deal comes hot on the heels of HR Path acquiring Eaton Square, a HR consultancy with offices in the UK and Ireland. Meanwhile, in January 2025, HR Path acquired Talent at Work, a German company specializing in leadership training, coaching, and consulting.
