Grant Thornton Advisors adds Switzerland and Liechtenstein to its platform

The Switzerland and Liechtenstein businesses of Grant Thornton have become the latest to join Grant Thornton Advisors, a private equity-backed platform for Grant Thornton member firms.

Grant Thornton Advisors launched early 2025 when the US and Irish member firms of Grant Thornton joined forces with the backing of New Mountain Capital to create a new platform. Their goal is to create an integrated operating model with a global footprint – while Grant Thornton operates externally under one brand, the network in fact consists of independently operating local businesses.

Grant Thornton Advisors requires member firms to exchange their local partner-owned model for a more integrated form of ownership, in the belief that it benefits financial management, operational agility, client service and collaboration across the network.

With the addition of Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Grant Thornton Advisors now has approximately 13,500 professionals across nearly 60 offices stretching from the Americas across Europe to the Middle East. Earlier, the local organisations in the UAE, Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands, the Channel Islands, and the Netherlands also joined the group.

The transaction is expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approvals and other standard closing conditions.
