BrazilMontenegro and Agile Dynamics explore how to unlock €2 billion blockchain economy
Montenegro is positioning itself as a pioneer in the adoption of blockchain technology in Southeast Europe, launching a national initiative to create a blockchain-based digital economy that can drive innovation, transparency, and sustainable development.
Enlisted to support the initiative, Agile Dynamics is currently evaluating the potential for collaboration with various government institutions, regulators, and private sector stakeholders to design a unified, interoperable framework that can accelerate blockchain adoption across the country.
The analysis is intended to align policy, infrastructure, and business incentives to support both innovation and long-term economic resilience.
The effort aims to establish a sovereign-friendly, open, and interoperable blockchain infrastructure – designed to meet the needs of both public institutions and private enterprises. Key use cases under consideration include cross-border trade facilitation, digital identity systems, decentralized finance expansion, and the creation of tokenized capital markets to boost access to funding for local and international entrepreneurs.
Blockchain ambitions
Montenegro’s strategic ambition includes becoming a regional hub for blockchain innovation and regulation, offering a testbed for next-generation applications while complying with EU standards and ensuring regulatory clarity.
By embracing tokenization and digital trust frameworks, the country hopes to create a digital highway connecting the Western Balkans to global capital flows, including partnerships with countries in the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia.
