Ankura launches Turnaround & Restructuring practice in Germany

Global advisory firm Ankura has established its Turnaround & Restructuring practice in Germany.

Already active in the US, the UK, Australia and the Middle East, the launch of the practice expands Ankura’s restructuring capability into mainland Europe and broaden the firm’s presence in the German market.

The Turnaround & Restructuring practice guides its clients through distressed situations, with offerings including restructuring advisory, bankruptcy preparation, turnaround and financial management, lender support, insolvency and fraudulent conveyance matters, and debt advisory services to corporates and sovereign funds.

The new arm will be led by Jens Nawrath, a Senior Managing Director based in Frankfurt. He brings over 30 years of experience in debt advisory and financial restructuring to the role. Before joining Ankura, Jens led the DACH Debt Advisory practice at Alvarez & Marsal, where he advised corporate and private equity clients on debt financing and developed a leading cross-border advisory practice.

Before that, he worked for Deloitte, Houlihan Lokey, Leonardo & Co, and over a decade at Commerzbank. “I’m delighted to join Ankura and its highly experienced team to support our clients in navigating critical business challenges in the region,” said Nawrath.
