Data and AI consultancy Artefact wins award for strong growth in Dutch market

Following a period of rapid growth in the Dutch market, the French Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands has awarded data and AI consultancy Artefact its Business Development Award.

Headquartered in France, Artefact has experienced strong growth around the world in recent years, expanding from 1,000 employees in 2020 to around 1,700 today. This expansion has been driven by both organic growth and a targeted buy-and-build strategy, through which the firm has acquired several specialised consultancies across Europe, Africa and Latin America.

In the Netherlands, Artefact launched organically in 2014, but its local presence received a major boost in 2017 through a local acquisition (metapeople). Fast forward to today, the Dutch team has grown into a 70-strong unit serving major clients such as Heineken, JDE, and Adyen. Artefact has meanwhile firmly established itself as a leading player in the Dutch data and AI landscape.

Its growth and impact have not gone unnoticed – this week, the French Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands (CCI France Pays-Bas) presented Artefact with the Business Development FR–NL Award. This award recognises companies that strengthen business relations between France and the Netherlands and highlights Artefact’s successful Franco-Dutch collaboration.

Building a two-way collaboration

Close collaboration between Artefact’s Paris headquarters and its Dutch team has been instrumental to the firm’s local success. With initial support from its head office, the Dutch branch secured its first major contracts, paving the way for future expansion. As the office grew in stature, the partnership between France and the Netherlands evolved into a reciprocal model, with teams now jointly delivering end-to-end projects and sharing opportunities and best practices.

“Winning this award confirms the success of the Franco-Dutch strategy we built from day one,” said Arnold Struik, Managing Partner for Europe at Artefact. “By initially leveraging the expertise of our Paris headquarters and quickly evolving into a genuine two-way partnership, we have achieved exceptional results and true market leadership.”

“We are proud to be a French company bringing our values and expertise across Europe – and to celebrate the milestone of becoming a unicorn. I look forward to continuing our expansion and strengthening our position as Europe’s leading data and AI consulting partner.”

With the financial backing of Cinven, Artefact aims to triple its headcount by 2030 and establishing a truly global footprint with operations across all major markets.
