Accenture buys French project management delivery firm Orlade

Accenture has acquired Orlade, a French company that provides advisory and project management services for capital projects.

Orlade has around 200 professionals working across its two labels: Op2 and pmO. Most of its employees are based in Paris and Bordeaux.

Op2‘s services include advising clients on how they can organize and execute capital projects more successfully with lead time reduction expertise, best practices for large-scale project management and predictive data-driven models. pmO’s project management processes and tools help clients deliver capital projects on time and on budget.

Both labels focus on asset-heavy organizations, with particular expertise in the energy, utilities, rail, aerospace and defense sectors.

Commenting on the deal, Koen Deryckere, Accenture’s leader for France and the Benelux, said: “This acquisition strengthens our position in France and boosts our ability to help clients reinvent how they plan and execute large-scale projects. It also enhances our capital project management expertise, from advisory to execution.”

“Orlade is an experienced leader in helping organizations successfully plan and execute complex industry projects,” added Flavien Parrel, who leads Accenture Industry X for France and Benelux. “Their team will complement our digital and technology expertise in the capital projects domain.”

Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Accenture closed around the world. Previous bolt-ons in the infrastructure and capital projects space include Soben in Scotland, IQT Group in Italy, Boslan in Spain, Anser Advisory in the US, and Comtech in Canada.

In a statement, the co-founders of Orlade – Pascal Oriot, Sylvain de Robert and Frederic Laforce – said the joining of forces will add value to the firm’s clients, employees and other stakeholders. “Together, we can provide expertise in the full lifecycle of capital projects in industrial sectors, and offer a unique delivery capability.”
