Joachim Heukmes takes the reins at Deloitte’s Luxembourg business

Joachim Heukmes has effective today officially assumed the role of Managing Partner of Deloitte in Luxembourg.

His appointment was announced at the end of last year, and over recent months he has undergone a structured transition period alongside John Psaila, who has completed his second term in the top role.

As Managing Partner, Heukmes will lead a team of around 190 partners and more than 2,600 professionals. “I’m honoured by the trust the partnership has placed in me,” he said. “Deloitte has a strong heritage in Luxembourg and a clear responsibility to its clients, employees and the wider community. I am determined to uphold that responsibility with commitment and rigour.”

Heukmes has been with Deloitte for 22 years, during which he has held several leadership positions. He has been a member of the Executive Committee for several years and most recently led the Strategy, Risk, Regulatory and Transactions Advisory practice, while also serving as Deputy Leader of Advisory and Consulting.

In his client work, Heukmes specialises in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance and restructuring, with extensive experience advising clients in the financial services, real estate and family office sectors.

“I have observed Joachim grow within the firm from his earliest days, and I am delighted to see him take over the reins,” said Psaila. “I wish him every success as he leads Deloitte through its next chapter in Luxembourg.”

In its latest financial year, Deloitte increased its gross revenues in Luxembourg by 5% to €535 million.
