Kearney appoints Martin Tornes as new leader of Danish business

Global strategy and management consulting firm Kearney has appointed a new leader for its Danish business: Martin Tornes.

In his role as office leader, he will oversee the Copenhagen office’s strategic direction, as well as its operations, talent management and performance management of consultants and staff. He will also liaise with the European leadership team to ensure alignment on growth, investment and cross-border engagements.

The new office leader brings extensive industry experience to Kearney, joining the firm from rival Bain & Company, where he spent two decades and was a partner in its Copenhagen office.

Now at Kearney, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary, Tornes has been tasked with further growing the firm’s presence in the Danish market, while also supporting the growth of its private equity and financial services practices across the Nordics.

“I’m delighted to have joined Kearney as the leader of its Danish office. I’m excited to start this next chapter, working closely with client leadership teams across the Nordics. Thank you to all my friends at Bain & Company for a defining first 20 years of my career,” said Tornes in a post on LinkedIn.

The Copenhagen office is one of Kearney’s four offices in the Nordics. The Danish team works closely with colleagues in Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki. Copenhagen is also the headquarters of Prokura, a procurement and supply chain consultancy that Kearney acquired in 2021. Under Kearney’s ownership, Prokura has since expanded its presence to several offices worldwide.

Tornes said he was drawn to Kearney by its renowned reputation for “making strategy real in the operational core” of a business. “At Kearney, we work with companies and their owners to create value rather than just identify it,” he stated.

Throughout his career, Tornes has advised a broad range of clients, with a focus on private equity funds and financial services institutions. His expertise spans strategy, mergers and acquisitions, technology transformations, transformational reorganisations and performance improvement.
