German restructuring consultancy Auxil Value Integration has strengthened its partner team with the appointment of Marco Horstmann.

Joining from Roland Berger, Horstmann brings more than 25 years of experience in restructuring consulting to the firm. He spent the past 14 years at Roland Berger, where he most recently served as a senior partner. Before that, he was a partner at FMC, a German restructuring boutique that was acquired by Roland Berger.

Horstmann has extensive experience in leading and managing complex transformation and restructuring processes. His expertise spans the development of transformation concepts and the refinancing of business models, as well as operational support for turnaround and change programmes.

Commenting on his move to Bremen-based Auxil Value Integration, he said: “I am impressed by Auxil’s pragmatic approach and its operational strength in achieving maximum client success.”

The 49-year-old joins the partner team alongside Dirk Schlarmann (founder), Axel Nordsieck, Jan Duisberg, Moritz Miller, Frederik Reimann and Jörg Hüntelmann. Together, they lead a team of around 55 consultants and staff.

Schlarmann said: “Marco possesses extensive technical and managerial knowledge of the transformation and realignment of business models. He will help us strengthen and expand our position in the restructuring landscape, particularly in Northern Germany.”

In addition to his advisory work, Horstmann is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Heidelberg University.
