EY Netherlands outsources facility management services to ISS
Accounting and consulting organisation EY has in the Netherlands outsourced the facility services of all its offices in the country to ISS, one of Europe’s larger facility management service providers.
With over 250,000 employees worldwide, EY is the third largest accountancy and consultancy firm in the world, trailing just Deloitte and PwC. The company provides services such as assurance (including financial audit), tax advisory and consulting. In the Netherlands, which is Europe’s seventh economy in terms of GDP, EY has more than 4,200 professionals work from fifteen offices – combined they generate a turnover of approximately €800 million.
Outsourcing facility services
In a bid to streamline its facility operations, as well as boost the quality of services delivered to its employees, EY has decided to outsource its entire facility services to ISS for the fifteen office locations across the Netherlands. With 500,000 employees and a turnover of €10.6 billion, ISS is one of the largest facility services providers in the world. The Dutch division, which has around 6,000 employees and works for the likes of Heineken and Accenture, among others, has over the past decade transformed from a cleaning specialist to an integrated facility management services provider.
As part of the agreement, which has a duration of at least five years, ISS Facility Services will be responsible for the management and execution of thirty types of facility services, including reception and telephony, repro, mail and cleaning. Over the past months, a transition team consisting of professionals from ISS and EY’s Workplace Services Department has made preparations for the outsourcing of the services. The deal will see around 150 EY employees transition to ISS Netherlands, with further financial details on the agreement not disclosed.
Commenting on the agreement, Bastiaan van Riet, Workplace Services Director at EY Netherlands, said: “ISS impressed us by offering the best total solution that contributes to our position as market leader in the Netherlands. We ISS, have found a supplier with a clear focus on hospitality and innovation, while ensuring continuous efficiency. In other words: a supplier who can demonstrably provide added value to the success of EY.”
Kees Stroomer, General Manager of ISS Facility Services in the Netherlands, added: “We are proud that EY has opted for ISS after an elaborate selection process. More and more companies opt for integrated facility services – especially in the professional services segment we can now build on a proven track record.”
Last year, EY Netherlands was named one of the top strategy and management consulting firms in the country by managers.
