Executive Insight founder Andrea Sobrio lauded in life sciences ranking
The founder of Executive Insight, a specialised healthcare consultancy from Switzerland, has been named by PharmaVOICE as one of the most “inspiring people” in the life sciences industry.
Andrea Sobrio founded Executive Insight in 2000, following a spell at the consulting arm of Big Four firm Deloitte. Under his direction, the consultancy has grown to a team of around 50 employees, active with offices in Switzerland and the UK. Executive Insight works with healthcare and life sciences companies, including six out of the top ten global biopharmaceutical players.
In his role as Managing Director, Sobrio leads Executive Insight’s endeavours in the consulting industry, and is involved with some of the firm’s largest engagements. Sobrio’s specialises in go-to-market models, new product launches, service model development, customer-centricity programs, marketing/brand development and performance improvement, among others.
On the back of his achievements, Sobrio has been named on one of the most prestigious lists recognising exceptional accomplishments in life sciences. The PharmaVOICE 100 annual list identifies 100 inspirational individuals from all corners of the globe who have made a significant contribution to the life sciences industry over the past twelve months. “Individuals recognised stand out because of their inspirational qualities as well as their ability to view industry trends as opportunities – not obstacles – and for their burning passion and conviction for the industry,” said a spokesperson of PharmaVOICE 100.
Leaders were selected following a due diligence process on a range of factors, including the ability to innovate, to think outside of the box and develop breakthrough strategies, products and services, as well as pioneering new paths and lifting their respective company to new heights.
“I am extremely honoured and humbled to have been included in this year’s list,” said Sobrio. He added that the award further acknowledges the contribution that Executive Insight as a whole is making to the industry. “It is the recognition of the quality of our thinking, the excellence of our work and our perseverance in creating value for our clients and their stakeholders year after year.”
According to the jury report, “Andrea has capitalised on a background in international management and 20-plus years experience in healthcare to increase the productivity of biopharma commercial operations across the globe. He has spearheaded innovative go-to-market models, and multi-stakeholder approaches to maximise the value of new brand launches and optimise the lifecycle of existing brands. More specifically, he has extensive experience in strategic and organisational design assignments and has initiated several groundbreaking innovations and medical breakthroughs. He has created programmes pertaining to innovative pricing strategies, payer education programmes, new business models, and strategies that have supported the launch of some of the most successful brands in a cost-constrained environment.”
In addition to his projects for consulting firm Executive Insight, in 2007 Sobrio played an instrumental role in the conceptualisation and set up of the nonprofit organisation European Critical Care Foundation (ECCF), an initiative that seeks better ways to treat critically ill patients in Europe.
A round among Sobrio’s colleagues and clients reveals that he is lauded for being open-minded, a great communicator and committed to creating a more effective and better healthcare industry. Sobrio: “I try to lead by example. I have learned you should be in the trenches as a leader to feel the morale of your teams and understand what are their most important concerns and help them unleash their full potential.”
