Oliver Wyman makes three senior appointments in Europe

Oliver Wyman has hired two new partners externally and unveiled a senior promotion. In Germany, Heiko Rauscher has made the switch from Porsche Consulting, while in Italy, Alberto Mussa left rival McKinsey & Company to join Oliver Wyman’s Milan office. Klaus Hoelzer has meanwhile been appointed Head of the firm’s Finance & Risk practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Heiko Rauscher worked for over 20 years in consulting before joining Oliver Wyman. After starting his career at Bain & Company, where he spent seven years, he then moved to Droege & Company, a German-origin management consultancy. The past years Rauscher served as Head of Porsche Consulting in China, one of the firm’s main markets outside of automotive powerhouses Germany and the US. 

At Oliver Wyman, Rauscher has been appointed a partner in the firm’s Automotive & Manufacturing and Operations services lines, based in Munich. He specialises in value sourcing, manufacturing excellence, production and logistics.

Oliver Wyman makes three senior appointments in EuropeBased in Frankfurt, the German Klaus Hoelzer has been promoted to the role of Head of Finance & Risk practice for the EMEA region. The consultant has been with the firm for over two decades, having joined Oliver Wyman in 1998. During his tenure, he has gained extensive experience in the financial services sector, advising financial institutions on topics across risk and finance, risk measurement and management as well as operational optimisation and effectiveness.

Commenting on his appointment, Matt Austen, co-head of Oliver Wyman’s Financial Services practice in EMEA, said, “Klaus brings a wealth of experience to this role. Over the past two decades he has built long-term relationships with several of our core clients across the region and helped numerous banks to transform their business. I have every confidence that Klaus will continue to build Oliver Wyman’s track record in the market.”

Southwards, in Italy, Alberto Mussa has joined the consulting firm as a Partner in the Milan office. He has been tasked with setting up and growing the Sales & Marketing practice in Italy, with a particular focus on the retail and consumer goods sector. Mussa joins from McKinsey & Company, where he was an Associate Partner and a leader in the firm’s Marketing & Sales practice. Throughout his career he has served European clients in the Retail, Digital and Consumer Goods sectors, with a focus on revenue growth management, pricing, promotion, trade terms, marketing ROI and marketing automation.

Earlier this year, Oliver Wyman appointed new partners in Germany, France and Italy.

Rik de Weerd joins Product League as Chief Digital Transformation

Product League, a digital transformation agency dedicated to the OutSystems platform, has brought Rik de Weerd on board as Chief Digital Transformation.

Based in the Netherlands, Product League is a rapidly growing digital product specialist. Rik de Weerd joins Product League as Chief Digital Transformation

The Dutchman brings a wealth of experience to Product League, as well as a reputation as one of the Benelux’s OutSystems thought leaders in the low-code industry. Before joining the digital consultancy, he worked for OutSystems from their Benelux office as Lead Solution Architect for Northern Europe. During his tenure, he has led a large number of digital transformation projects and has been responsible for resolving complex business and IT issues. Earlier in his career he held several IT consulting and project management roles. 

Asked about his move from OutSystems to Product League, De Weerd commented: “After five years of evangelising low-code, drawing up countless solutions across Northern Europe and battling 'old habits and short-term thinking’, now it’s time to put my money where my mouth is. I had the privilege to be presented with several new business cases every week in different branches and help blueprint the road to value in all of them. Now I’m eager to take that to the next level and drive the programmes that actually transform corporations into the digital age.”
