BrazilHans Bootsma leads Grant Thornton's Dutch Advisory arm
Grant Thornton has per the 1st of October promoted Hans Bootsma to Head of its Advisory division.
The new service line leader takes the responsibility for approximately 140 professionals operating across seven practices: Transactional Services (M&A offerings), Valuation, Investigation & Dispute Services (valuations of companies and forensic services), Business Risk Services (risk management), Cyber Risk Services (online risk management), Insolvency (restructuring and administration propositions), Legal Services (legal support) and Social Impact Services (people and planet offerings).
Bootsma has been with Grant Thornton since April 2018, when he joined from Deloitte, where he served for 17 years. At the Big Four firm, the Dutchman served several multinationals with a range of IT-audit and consulting services. His expertise lies in cybersecurity, data analytics and data science, risk & compliance and IT risk management.
Alongside leading the internal teams of Grant Thornton Advisory, he has been tasked with further bolstering the Grant Thornton brand in the Dutch consulting landscape, an industry valued at around €1.8 billion. The professional services firm has around 500 professionals in the Netherlands working from nine offices, and is in the market still best known for its accountancy, assurance and tax work. “But also in consulting we have a differentiated offering,” said Bootsma.
“In the past year we have been able to develop new services and we have acquired two leading consulting companies [Milana and Sinzer], allowing us to serve our customers even better. In the coming years, we will continue this growth.”
The Dutch country organisation of Grant Thornton is led by Marcel Welsink, who succeeded Frank Ponsioen three months ago.
