Nielen Schuman adds M&A professionals to Amsterdam team

Nielen Schuman has added four new corporate finance and merger & acquisition professionals to its advisory team in the Netherlands.

Joost Moelker has joined Nielen Schuman as a Director. He previously served ING for 11 years in its Corporate Finance division, where he gained extensive experience in both M&A and equity capital markets. In the period, he advised a wide variety of public and private sector organisations and financial sponsors on sell-side and buy-side transactions, leveraged buyouts, strategic financial advisory, public-to-private transactions, demergers, IPOs and secondary equity offerings. 

His focus is on clients in the business services, telecom, media, technology, transportation & logistics sectors. Notable recent transactions include the sale of Roxit to software player Visma, the sale of healthcare company Enovation to private equity firm Main Capital Partners, and the acquisition of HES International by a consortium including Goldman Sachs and Macquarie.

Nielen Schuman adds M&A professionals to Amsterdam teamAlso joining from investment banking is Mark IJdo, who previously spent 4.5 years working at ABN AMRO in its Structured Finance department. During his spell at the Dutch bank, IJdo gained experience within a broad variety of domestic and international transactions, including refinancings, acquisitions financing, dividend recapitalisations, and restructurings, working from ABN AMRO’s offices in Amsterdam, London and Singapore.

Meanwhile, Anne Rechmann and Luuk Graafland have been appointed as Analysts. Prior to joining, Graafland worked at ING Corporate Finance for two years, where he regularly worked together with Moelker on deals. Similarly, Rechmann also learned the tricks of the trade at ING during an internship at ING Corporate Finance, and also completed an internship at Big Four firm EY. 

With a team of nearly 40 partners and consultants across offices in Amsterdam and Brussels, Nielen Schuman is one of the larger corporate finance advisors in the Benelux. The firm specialises in corporate finance advisory and execution services to medium and large sized corporates and private equity groups.

In the last 3 years, Nielen Schuman has executed over 200 assignments with a combined deal value of over €15 billion. Recent transactions supported include the acquisition of restaurant chain Loetje by Waterland, the purchase of IT managed services provider Odin Groep by Fortino Capital, and the change of ownership of Royal Reesink from Gilde Buy Out Partners to Triton Partners.
