Edoardo Battista Ancora joins BDO Advisory in Luxembourg
BDO has bolstered its Advisory partner team in Luxembourg with the hire of Edoardo Battista Ancora.
Italian-origin Ancora brings two decades of experience in corporate finance and financial advisory services to the global professional services firm. He joined BDO from mid-tier rival Mazars, where he briefly headed the firm’s Financial Advisory Services team in Luxembourg. Previously, he spent eleven years at EY – across two spells – and three years at Big Four peer Deloitte, also across two spells.
Most recently, Ancora was Head of Valuation & Business Modelling at EY in Luxembourg, in this capacity managing a team of ten international corporate finance professionals. At Deloitte, his most senior role was that of Senior Manager in the firm’s Corporate Finance team. Earlier in his career, he learned the trick of the trade at two small Milan-based financial consulting companies.At BDO, Ancora will focus on a range of financial advisory services, including M&A consulting, business valuation, due diligence and capital raising, with a further focus on multinational and larger local companies, institutional investors and family offices. The main sectors he serves are infrastructure, renewable energy, fund managers, real estate and companies seeking to ramp up their ESG footprint.
According to his LinkedIn bio, Ancora – who is proficient in four languages – has completed more than 500 corporate finance engagements. Commenting on his new challenge, he said, “I thank BDO for having given me the opportunity of being part of a team of top-tier professionals.”
Ancora has been working and living in Luxembourg for four years now, having relocated to the Benelux country in the summer of 2015 from Italy. He is a graduate of Bocconi University in Milan and holds a Master of Science in Business Administration.
