Geman boutique management consultancy FourManagement has appointed Thommy Mewes as a Principal.

Mewes joins the Düsseldorf-based firm from IT consulting and services group Sopra Steria. He spent nearly four years at the company, latterly in the role of Director in its Energy arm. Before that, he worked for Ciber in its Application Development and Management practice, as a business developer and service line manager, heading a team of some 50 consultants. Mewes started his career at Nuremberg-based IT consultancy Conplement.

At FourManagement, a management consulting firm dedicated to the energy & utilities sector, Mewes has been tasked with deepening the firm’s digital knowhow. Gerrit Buss, Managing Director and one of the four co-founders of FourManagement, unpacked, “Since there is hardly any solution without IT and as the need for IT know-how continues to grow, we have brought additional expertise on board in this area.”

“Mewes is a real IT strategy expert. He has throughout his career has gained the necessary experience as a software developer and architect, as a system and technology consultant and IT strategist. The newly appointed Principal will now leverage this experience to lift FourManagement’s digital capabilities to the next level,” added Buss.

The senior partner co-founded FourManagement together with Christoph Schrader in 2012 – both worked previously at Management Engineers, a German-origin consultancy with around 150 consultants. When the firm was acquired by Booz & Company (now Strategy&), the pair decided to launch their own venture.

Today, FourManagement employs just over 20 consultants. “In the past almost eight years we have developed very well through organic growth and have been able to build a solid client base,” remarked Buss. Its track record has not remain unnoticed: last year the firm was recognised by clients as one of Germany’s top consultancies in a publication by Brand Eins and Statista.
