Capgemini, KPMG, PwC and Roland Berger join FinTech ecosystem B-Hive

Four consulting firms – Capgemini, KPMG, PwC and Roland Berger – have joined B-Hive Europe. The FinTech innovation platform aims to assist organisations in dealing with digital disruption in the financial sector.

Belgian Fintech innovation platform “B-Hive” was launched in London in 2017, in the presence of the Belgian Minister of Finance. Later that year, the initiative finalized a capital round of €5 million, before opening the doors of its operations in Brussels, London and Tel-Aviv. B-Hive aims to build a new model of FinTech ecosystem, in which organisations can better deal with the impact of digital technology in financial services.

Led by CEO Wim De Waele, who alongside acts as a non-executive board member of start-up companies such as Continuum and SonicAngel, the collaborative innovation platform is supported by thirteen major financial players, including banks, insurers and market infrastructure players. They work together on common innovation challenges and build bridges to the global start-up and scale-up community.

The platform previously announced a number of official launch partners, including Cresco Law, Ingenico, McKinsey & Company, Proximus and time.lex. The group organised their partners within three industry groups – banking, insurance and market infrastructure – to drive the business and technological objectives of their strategic programs. By bringing their expertise and knowledge together, B-Hive’s partners play an integral role in the success of the new ecosystem.Connecting the dotsInvestors in the platform currently also include financial institutions AXA, BNP Paribas Fortis, ING, KBC, Belfius, Euroclear, SWIFT, AG Insurance, Baloise Insurance, Allianz, Isabel, BNY Mellon, Mastercard and the Belgian Government – by means of a federal investment fund.

Now, four consulting firms have been confirmed as new partners of B-Hive. Big Four professional services firms KPMG and PwC, as well as Capgemini and Roland Berger have signed up to the FinTech ecosystem as it continues to expand its efforts.

As part of the firm's cooperation, the German-origin consultancy has already started with the development of a dashboard for FinTech services and offerings.

Fellow consultancies KPMG, PwC and Capgemini are highly active in the FinTech space. Alongside support banks with digital transformation and FinTech's with scaling, all three were recently named one of the top producers of FinTech thought leadership.
