Christian Kinder leads Bain & Company's EMEA insurance practice
Christian Kinder is the new leader of Bain & Company’s Insurance practice for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The 48-year-old German is based in Bain’s Munich office, and has been with the strategy consulting firm for over two decades. He joined Bain & Company in 1999, after obtaining a degree in business mathematics at the University of Augsburg. Kinder holds a doctorate, with his dissertation focused finance and banking.
Kinder has been part of the firm’s Financial Services practice for years, and focuses on advising executives and senior management in the insurance industry. He specialises in customer strategies, sales & marketing, growth, operations and cost management, organisational development, and digital transformation.
The new leader takes the reigns following stellar performance in his previous role. During his five year leadership of the Insurance industry vertical for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), he managed to considerably grow the practice. Last year alone, the arm bolstered its sales by 40 percent.
Commenting on the promotion, Dirk Vater, Head of Bain’s Financial Services practice in EMEA, said: “Christian's profound expertise and industry experience strongly qualify him for this international leadership role. He has contributed significantly to our business success and built long-term customer relationships. He is the right man to consolidate our strong position in the insurance industry in EMEA.”
Last month, Bain & Company appointed former McKinsey & Company consultant Michael Jongeneel as the leader of its Financial Services practice in the Netherlands.
