Company veteran Tomasz Konik new boss of Deloitte Poland
The Polish organisation of professional services giant Deloitte has a new boss: Tomasz Konik.
Konik spent the past four years as Vice-President of Deloitte Poland, and following a six-month transition period he has now formally taken the reins from predecessor Marek Metrycki.
The new chief executive is a textbook example for any professional seeking to grow through the ranks of a Big Four. He started his career at Deloitte in 2000 and has remained faithful to the accountancy and consultancy firm ever since. Having commenced as an intern in the Audit department, he then gained professional experience in the Tax and Legal divisions.
Most recently, he held a leadership role in the firm’s Consulting division, and actively participated in the development of a new consulting strategy for Deloitte in Poland. In 2016, he was appointed Vice-President of Deloitte, holding a board role and accountable for several large clients and industry verticals.
As Managing Partner, Konik leads a team of more than 2,500 professionals across offices in Warsaw, Lodz, Szczecin, Kraków, Wrocław, Rzeszów, Katowice, Gdańsk and Poznań. He heads all of Deloitte’s brands in the country, including Monitor Deloitte (strategy consulting services), Deloitte Digital (technology consultancy) and Deloitte Legal (legal advisory services).
Not surprisingly, Konik has been tasked with extending Deloitte’s already leading market share in the country – Deloitte is the number two of the Big Four in terms of size, behind PwC, but ahead of other arch-rivals EY and KPMG.
“Personal growth of our people and exerting positive impact on our environment are other priorities,” he said. And, despite ranking as one of Poland’s top consulting firms for young professionals, “enhancing our standing on the labour market is another priority,” Konik concluded.
