Joacim Sundell country head of PA Consulting in Sweden

Seven years after joining PA Consulting, Joacim Sundell has been named the firm’s country head for Sweden. 

Sundell succeeds Magnus Krusberg, who joined PA Consulting in the summer of 2016 and was promoted to country leader at the start of 2017. Krusberg last month left the firm to pursue his career outside the consulting industry, and has joined Swedbank, one of Sweden’s major banks. At PA Consulting, Krusberg also led the firm’s Financial Services practice. 

“It has been just over four fantastic years at PA, having doubled the Swedish team, created a great culture and built a market leading financial services practice. Now is the time to move on – I will miss our entire Stockholm team,” Krusberg said of his departure.

PA Consulting’s new Swedish boss brings two decades of consultancy experience to the role. Prior to joining the UK-origin global consulting firm, most known for its capabilities to couple technology-led innovation with strategy and organisation (hence its tagline ‘bringing ingenuity to life’), Sundell worked five years for a Swish real estate consultancy, and five years for the consulting arms of IBM and Deloitte. 

In his new role, he leads PA Consulting’s 100 partners and consultants in Stockholm, including partners Maria Gustavsson, Per Blom, Peter Wardell, Oskar Almén, and principals Lan-Ling Wolff Fredell and Jakob Delden. 

PA Consulting serves a broad range of clients with business transformation, organisation, digital, outsourcing and innovation services. Sundell himself specialises in business and technology transformation, operating model design, strategy execution and programmes and project management, with a focus on clients in the government and transport sectors. 

After breaking the news on LinkedIn, Sundell’s post has drawn much attention, receiving over 450 likes and congratulations messages, including from PA colleagues in Sweden and beyond, clients and relations.
