Renato Fazzone joins FTI's Technology practice in Germany

FTI Consulting has hired Renato Fazzone as a Senior Managing Director in its Düsseldorf office.

Fazzone brings more than 15 years of experience in e-discovery and litigation support to the consulting firm, as well as advising clients on corporate fraud matters and antitrust investigations. Before joining the global consultancy, he was a partner at BDO in the firm’s Forensic, Risk & Compliance practice, heading E-discovery and IT Forensic service line. 

Previously, Fazzone was a Director at AlixPartners, and served Big Four firms EY and PwC for nearly a decade. Earlier in his career, he worked for German insurance group Allianz. 

Since the start of his career in the early 2000s, Fazzone has focused mainly on the technology field, helping clients with both the technical and strategic application of technology to regulatory requirements. He specialises in dealing with corporate fraud matters such as corruption, asset misappropriation, data leakage and financial statement fraud, as well as competition and litigation issues.

In the private sector, Fazzone has gained extensive expertise in a wide array of industries, and in the public sector, he worked closely with regulatory authorities including the European Commission, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, U.S. Department of Justice and local German and European prosecutors.

At FTI Consulting, Fazzone leads the firm’s Technology practice in Germany. Asked why he joined FTI Consulting, he said: “I was attracted to FTI’s leadership as a technology business. The opportunity to take a leadership role in the Technology segment and help grow the business in the German market was really appealing.”

His initial focus will be on e-discovery, data privacy, computer forensics and data analytics. “That will include raising awareness among new clients, securing engagements and building up a strong team with the highest expertise,” said Fazzone.

Building on the fundament, the mid-term goal is to mirror FTI’s global portfolio of offerings in Germany. “We will step up new propositions for law firms and in-house legal teams, and tech-driven services for mergers & acquisitions and restructuring.”
