Bain & Co. partner Michelle Paratore relocates to Europe

Michelle Paratore, a partner at Bain & Company in the United States, has relocated to Europe. 

Paratore has been with the global strategy and management consulting giant for over a decade, having joined Bain & Company in 2007 after obtaining her degree at Brown University. As part of Bain’s internal development programme, the 35-year-old also obtained an MBA at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.

Since joining the consulting firm, Paratore has gained broad expertise across the retail sphere, serving clients in sectors such as beauty & cosmetics, apparel & footwear, restaurants and ecommerce. She specialises in the retail and consumer sectors, with a focus on growth strategy, digital marketing, human-centered design, as well as channel excellence and customer-centric operations.

She also has experience with mergers & acquisition related work, including providing commercial due diligence support to buyers and portfolio optimisation services to private equity clients. Paratore is part of the firm’s Private Equity, Retail and Consumer Products practices.

Paratore’s move to Europe comes shortly after she was promoted to partner in the US (July this year). She relocates from Bain’s San Francisco office to its Amsterdam hub, one of the firm’s most international offices globally. Of the 16 partners currently based in the Netherlands, 6 are of non-Dutch origin, with the percentage of expats in the consultant ranks among the highest within the firm’s network of 59 offices globally.

Other partners that recently relocated from one of Bain & Company’s international offices to Amsterdam include Mário Conde (from Brazil) and Berry Diepeveen (South Africa).
