FTI Consulting launches Strategic Communications practice in Spain

Global consulting firm FTI Consulting has launched a Strategic Communications practice in Spain. To lead the new offering, the consultancy has brought Juan Rivera on board, a seasoned expert in the field of corporate and financial communication strategies.

“We are excited to formally launch a communications offering in Spain,” said Edward Reilly, Global Chief Executive Officer of the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting.

FTI’s Strategic Communications practice – one of the five main divisions of the consulting firm – designs and executes communications strategies for clients managing financial, regulatory and reputational challenges. The arm has around 650 professionals globally (in comparison: FTI has 4,700 employees), which includes PR, communication, marketing, but also lobby experts.

The new arm means that FTI’s Spanish office now can mirror the firm’s completes global portfolio of services, which besides Strategic Communications spans Corporate Finance & Restructuring, Forensic & Litigation Consulting, Economic Consulting and Technology segment.

To head the newly launched segment, FTI has hired Juan Rivera from Llorente & Cuenca in Mexico, where he was a Partner and Managing Director. Over the course of his career, Rivera has served as a trusted advisor to companies across Spain and Latin America and advised more than 150 companies on corporate and financial communication strategies. “Juan’s years of experience advising leading businesses throughout Latin America and Spain will make him an invaluable asset to our firm,” commented Reilly.

Juan Rivera graduated with an undergraduate degree in Communications from University of the Basque Country, and subsequently attended the IESE Business School, where he studied Corporate Communication and Business Administration and Management.
