CBRE adds Kate McMurtrie to Advisory & Transaction team, based in Moscow

Bolstering its presence in Europe, CBRE has appointed Kate McMurtrie, previously at rival JLL, into its management team. McMurtrie, who is based in Moscow, takes on the role of Executive Director within the firm’s EMEA Advisory & Transaction (A&T) practice.

Prior to joining CBRE, Kate McMurtrie worked at fellow real estate and property consultancy JLL for almost ten years, most recently as a Regional Director and Head of Corporate Solutions, and previously as National Director for Russia and in its Corporate Solutions practice. She was prior to that at Knight Frank, where she was the Head of Corporate Client Group (Tenant Representation) for Russia & CIS between 2006 and 2008, the Director of Corporate Client Services for Greater China between 2000 and 2006, and Deputy General Manager for Knight Frank Greater China between 1996 and 2000.

The appointment of McMurtrie, who is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, sees her appointed to Executive Director within CBRE’s Advisory & Transaction (A&T) wing. The arm helps clients with services including acquisition, disposition and subleasing of property, financial consulting, location analytics, lease management, portfolio optimisation and benchmarking and workplace strategy. McMurtrie will have responsibility for business development and key occupier client accounts across the EMEA region with a specific focus on growing and expanding CBRE’s occupier service offerings in Russia, CEE and Switzerland. She is based in CBRE’s Moscow office, located at Krasnogvardeysky, and reports to Alfonso Galobart Marone, Head of CBRE’s A&T business in EMEA.

Earlier this month in Russia, CBRE was appointed the exclusive leasing and sales agent for the Yasniy residential complex in Moscow, an 8,000 square metre complex located at Kashirskoye highway (a 7-minute walk from the ‘Domodedovo’ metro station). Commissioning of the complex and opening of the retail part is scheduled for Q3 this year.

According to recent data from CBRE Russia, 408,000 square metres were commissioned in the Moscow office market in 2017, an increase of 29% in volume compared to the previous year.
