Véronique Pauwels leads Bain & Company's Amsterdam office
Bain & Company has named Véronique Pauwels as its new Managing Partner for the Netherlands.
Véronique Pauwels has been with the global strategy consulting firm since 1996, and became a partner in 2006. She succeeds Stephen Bertrand, who relocated to the Amsterdam office in 2014 to take the helm, and now returns to the company’s New York office.
Under Bertrand’s leadership, Bain & Company enjoyed a period of robust growth in the country, landing a range of new clients, boosting its brand recognition among CxO’s and growing its partner team to sixteen. Meanwhile, the Amsterdam office developed itself into one of the leading national workplaces for talent – in 2017 for example, Bain & Company was named the Netherlands’ top employer across all industries.
According to the Italian Domenico Azzarello, regional managing partner for Bain & Company in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Pauwels has what it takes to successfully fill Bertrand’s shoes. “We have realised impressive growth in the Netherlands and are delighted to be able to put the ambitions of the Amsterdam office in Véronique’s hands.”
He continued, “Véronique is a highly regarded partner within our organisation. She has a fantastic track record, both within Bain & Company and beyond our firm, and is recognised for her extraordinary dedication to our clients and her significant contribution to the development of the talent within our company.”
Alongside her managing partner role, Pauwels will continue to serve clients. She specialises in corporate strategy and transformations, serving as Head of the EMEA Performance Improvement practice for the last six years.
Commenting on her new challenge, effective 1 January 2021, Pauwels said: “Together with my colleagues in Amsterdam and around the world, I look forward to further building our business, supporting clients in their growth, and deepening our sustainability, digitalisation and transformation capabilities. I also strive to continue offering fantastic career opportunities for our talent and broaden diversity within our organisation.”
