Finnish IT consultancy Fourkind acquired by ThoughtWorks
Finnish IT consultancy Fourkind has been acquired by ThoughtWorks, a global software consultancy with more than 7,000 employees globally.
The deal is the second for ThoughtWorks in 2021, and comes within a month of roping in a $720 million investment from a consortium of GIC, Siemens, Fidelity Management and Research and Mubadala Investment Company aimed at fueling the next phase of its global growth..
On January 13, ThoughtWorks announced that it bought Gemini Solutions, a privately-held software development and IT consulting firm with 170 team members in the US and Romania. The deal sees ThoughtWorks enter the Romanian market, with its local operation providing nearshore support for clients in Eastern Europe, the UK and Germany.
Continuing its European expansion, ThoughtWorks has now bolted-on Helsinki and Amsterdam based Fourkind, adding a 40-strong team of data scientists, machine learning experts, designers, and engineers that have worked with 80+ organisations in 10+ countries since inception four years ago.

In related deals in Finland’s IT consulting industry, in December last year SAP consultancy Pasafin joined the ranks of global player itelligence.
