Squarefield, a boutique Dutch M&A consultancy to the food & beverage and agricultural sectors, has appointed three new partners who all arrive with a background in investment banking.

Floris Pot joins from ING, where he worked for thirteen years, latterly as head of the global Food & Agri M&A service line within ING Corporate Finance. He has a track record of over 30 successful buy- and sell-side transactions across the globe, across various types of deals including public offers, carve-outs, IPOs and rights issues.

Jochen Boxheimer previously served UniCredit, Rabobank and NIBC for over two decades. He specialises in strategic advisory and corporate banking services, with a focus on the food & agri sector. Boxheimer will head Squarefield’s newly established Frankfurt office and take responsibility for the firm’s operations in the DACH region.

Marc Staal has worked for over twenty-three years in various investment and corporate banking roles at Van Den Boom Groep, NIBC and Rabobank. During those years, he has been involved in the execution of many (inter)national M&A and financing transactions in the global food & agri industry. His focus has mostly been on the up- and midstream supply chain, covering corporates, cooperatives, and traders.

Commenting on the appointments, Squarefield co-founder and partner Edwin Nobels said: “We are very excited to welcome them. The depth of experience, knowledge, and global network that they bring, will complement our growing team of seasoned specialists.”

According to research from KPMG, between 700 to 800 large and mid-sized transactions close in the Netherlands per year. Squarefield focuses on deals in the mid-market segment.
