Accenture acquires German people consultancy fable+
Following the acquisition of four companies in the UK this year, Accenture has now also inorganically beefed up its ranks in Germany with the bolt-on of fable+.
The addition of fable+ adds a team of 50 professionals across offices in Mannheim and Berlin to Accenture, and bolsters its human capital consulting offering in Germany. fable+’s team will be integrated into Accenture’s Talent & Organization practice, a service line within the Strategy & Consulting division.
Founded in 2014 by Ilhan Scheer, fable+ advises startups, SMEs and multinationals on people-focused strategies and the deployment of people-driven interventions rooted in psychological safety, gamification and analytics. The German HR consultancy also has a proprietary app for team performance and an Academy, which provides its clients with learning & development solutions.
According to Christie Smith, Accenture’s global leader of its Talent & Organization practice, the deal will bolster the firm’s capabilities in culture management, and add a layer of psychological-backed expertise to its offerings across the globe. While fable+ is based in Germany, it provides its services internationally.
“fable+’s methodologies will enable our clients to shape their workplace culture and support the growth of agile and resilient teams that are central to sustainable businesses growth,” she said.
Echoing Smith, Accenture’s boss for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Russia, Frank Riemensperger, said: “We see an increasing demand for agile transformation and training centred on human interaction. This acquisition enables us to scale and grow innovative services that help clients create effective working environments to address their individual challenges.”
The moves continues a major M&A-driven expansion campaign for Accenture, with fable+ the firm’s tenth deal this year. Last year, the firm closed more than ten deals worldwide. Globally, the consulting and technology giant now has 515,000 employees.
Boosting human capital consulting has been a particular areas of focus – earlier this year Accenture picked up change management consultancies Cirrus in the UK, and Future State in the US.
