Guidepoint establishes a base in Athens, its third in Europe
Global expert network Guidepoint has formally unveiled its new office in Athens, its third in Europe.
According to Benoît Kuhn, a former L.E.K. Consulting consultant who has been with Guidepoint for over five years, the move to establish an own office has been on the cards for a while. In a bid to solidify its “24/7 global business model” – Guidepoint provides experts on an on-demand basis to corporates, institutional investors and consultancies – the firm was seeking to expand on its current European bases in London and Düsseldorf.
Tasked with establishing and building the firm’s new operation in Greece, Kuhn relocated to Athens in May last year from Düsseldorf and has since despite the Covid-19-induced downturn developed an on the ground team and network of experts.
From its base in the heart of Athens (in Spaces Ermou), the team is now 40-strong, and ready to embark on its next phase of growth, said Kuhn. “The incredible growth Guidepoint has been experiencing is a direct result of our dedicated teams, always ensuring that our clients’ needs are met with the highest degree of commitment. We have plans to continue growing the office significantly.”
The Athens office will work closely with the firm’s two other hubs in Europe, and its Dubai office, which launched in June 2019. Globally, the expert network also has five outfits in the US (including its headquarters in New York) and another five in Asia. Together, the hubs serve 3,000+ clients across 100+ countries globally.
With over 800,000 experts in its network, Guidepoint is one of the world’s largest expert network alongside Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), AlphaSights and Third Bridge. The hold a significant share of the $1.4 billion global expert network market.
The news comes within a week of Guidepoint announcing the expansion of its Shanghai office, where it now has a team of 160 employees.
