Protiviti's Dutch team welcomes director Remke Schermer

Global consulting firm Protiviti has strengthened its team in the Netherlands with Remke Schermer.

Remke Schermer brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services sector to the firm, and has been appointed Business Development Director Risk & Compliance, with a focus on financial institutions.

Prior to joining Protiviti, Schermer worked for Rabobank as Head of Program Management for a global privacy transformation program, having previously worked on several financial crime and compliance related projects. Earlier in her career, she worked on several international projects at among others ABN Amro, Amev, Delta Lloyd and Reaal. 

Schermer started her career in the insurance industry, where she held sales roles at Interpolis and Nationale Nederlanden. “We are delighted to welcome Remke to the team,” said Anneke Wieling, Country Managing Director of Protiviti in the Netherlands. 

Commenting on Schermer’s profile, Wieling added: “Remke is result driven and has a proven track record of effecting change in complex global organizations. She understands what it takes to work on cross border engagements, understanding the cultural and regulatory differences between markets. Remke is able to influence leaders and turning strategy into reality, being hands-on and pragmatic at the same time.”

At Protiviti, Schermer will focus on expanding the firm’s business at financial institutions and larger fintech’s, spanning offerings including risk & compliance strategy, regulatory compliance, risk management and internal control.
