In its fifteenth deal this year in Europe, Accenture has acquired Lexta, a management consulting firm specialised in IT benchmarking and IT sourcing advisory.

The integration will see a team of more than 60 consultants across offices in Berlin (headquarter), Düsseldorf, London and Zurich join Accenture’s Technology Strategy & Advisory group. “With LEXTA’s comprehensive insights, we can better help our clients define the value of technologies such as cloud or platforms even more precisely,” said Frédéric Brunier, Accenture lead for Technology Strategy & Advisory Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Russia.

Founded in 2003, Lexta supports clients with in-depth insights on the IT provider market, offering detailed analysis and market comparisons of the quality, scope, processes and efficiency of both vendors and IT departments. The firm’s insights and benchmarking services help CIO with making better, more informed decisions.

Lexta’s team also advises its clients on emerging technologies, especially for cloud, platform and application technologies, from strategy through to execution.

Frank Riemensperger, market unit lead for Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Russia, said: “With this acquisition, we are expanding our team of professionals who can help our clients with shaping their digital transformation journeys.”

Meanwhile, for Lexta, the joining of forces will enable the firm to tap into “Accenture’s global reach and digital expertise” which will “enable us to take our IT advisory offerings to a larger client base across geographies,” said company founder and managing partner said Frank Baumann.

Earlier this year, another IT intelligence consultancy – Netherlands-based Metri – was acquired by IDC, one of the world’s largest market intelligence providers to IT executives.

Accenture itself has been on an M&A charge this year, closing over twenty deals globally in the space of eight months. Notable deals in Europe include that of: Exton in France, umlaut in Germany, Homburg & Partners in Germany, and Cirrus in the United Kingdom.

Globally, Accenture has over 560,000 employees serving clients in more than 120 countries. Its consulting services are delivered by the Strategy & Consulting division.
