Accenture acquires French product tech consultancy Benext

In its fourth acquisition this year in France, Accenture has acquired Benext, a company with around 160 professionals. 

Founded in 2014, Benext is a Paris-based consulting company that specialises in helping companies “reimagine their products and reengineer their product life cycles” through skillsets such as product management, agile delivery, digital transformation and software development. Now part of Accenture, Benext will be merged together with OCTO Technology, a technology consultancy that was acquired in 2017. 

Commenting on the added capabilities for the firm, Karthik Narain, Global Lead of Accenture Cloud First said: “With many clients ramping up their multi-cloud environments, the need for new agile operating models and a seamless user experience across a multi-cloud network has never been greater. Acquiring Benext will boost our capabilities to help more clients truly operate in the cloud and become digital enterprises.”

Olivier Girard, who leads Accenture in France and the Benelux, added: “Together with Benext, we can bring more specialised skills to fulfill the growing demand for effective product management and agile methods by leveraging the use of the latest technologies such as cloud, artificial intelligence, data and DevOps.” 

Financial terms of the Benext transaction have not been disclosed. The bolt-on builds on several previous cloud-focused acquisitions in France, including those of Linkbynet (2021), Gekko (2020), and Cirruseo (2019). 

Alongside Linkbynet, which has 900 professionals across several offices internationally, other French deals completed this year are those of financial services management consultancy Exton and enterprise performance management specialist Nell’Armonia. 

Globally, Accenture has acquired to the tune of 20 companies this year, as part of an aggressive M&A campaign backed by a multi-billion-dollar war chest.
