Marta Castro joins FTI Consulting’s energy practice in Madrid
After serving KPMG for a decade, Marta Castro Pérez-Chirinos has joined FTI Consulting in its Madrid office.
Appointed a Managing Director, Marta brings over 20 years of experience in the global energy sector as a consultant, economist, policy maker, and expert witness.
“Marta is a recognised expert who brings first-rate experience and knowledge in the energy sector to our team. This demonstrates our commitment to the practice’s growth plan in Spain,” said Blanca Perea, a Senior Managing Director and leader of FTI Consulting’s Energy practice in Spain.
Marta joins FTI Consulting from Big Four firm KPMG, where she held various roles. Most recently, she was a partner in the Economics & Regulation practice, with a focus on the energy sector. Earlier, she also led national and international projects in other regulated sectors including water utilities, gambling and professional gaming.
Before KPMG, she worked for Intermoney Energía as an energy advisor, for the Spanish government (Marta served as an Advisor of the Secretary of State for Energy) and for NERA Economic Consulting, an economics consultancy that is part of the Oliver Wyman group.
Her track record includes advising corporates and government entities on strategy and policy development, regulation, due diligence processes and commercial litigation. At FTI Consulting, she will focus on clients across the energy space, spanning the electricity, utilities, oil and gas, power distribution, and renewable energy segments.
Earlier this year, FTI Consulting bolstered its Spanish team with Joaquín Coronado, the former Advisory leader of PwC. He is a member of the firm’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring business.
