Rob Mackay succeeds Jürgen Lux as CEO of Regnology

Within a month of rebranding to Regnology, the leading regtech provider has installed a new CEO: Rob Mackay.

Following its private-equity backed split from consulting firm BearingPoint, and its rebrand from BearingPoint RegTech to Regnology, the provider of regulatory, risk, and supervisory technology solutions charted an ambitious growth strategy. Today the company has 770 employees serving more than 7,000 financial services institutions and 50 regulators and tax authorities. 

The firm’s new mid-term strategy sets out to double its footprint. Leading the strategic agenda is Rob Mackay, who takes the reins from Jürgen Lux, who in turn has decided to assume a more strategic role as a senior advisor to the Board of Directors of Regnology and to its owner Nordic Capital. 

Rob Mackay was until recently the CEO of Itiviti, a financial service company and technology provider for the capital markets industry. Prior to that, he was responsible as Chief Operating Officer for the Cross-Asset Trading & Risk business unit at FIS, a global provider of banking technology. His previous management experience includes positions as Chief Operating Officer of Hedge Funds & Risk and Managing Director of Alternative Investments.

Departing CEO Jürgen Lux said: “After almost three decades, now is the right time for me to step aside and make a change.
