Carlo van Gilst and Ellen van den Boogaart join KPMG Innovation
KPMG has bolstered its Innovation practice in the Netherlands with Carlo van Gilst and Ellen van den Boogaart.
The duo both joined the Big Four firm as a Junior Consultant in its Strategy & Innovation service line – a team that helps clients with the full innovation cycle, from ideation and build to roll-out and scaling. The wing also takes responsibility for a number of KPMG’s larger research series in the space of start-ups, venture capital and open innovation.
Carlo van Gilst graduated from the Technische Universiteit Delft with a master in Strategic Product Design. “When I graduated, I was looking for a job at the intersection of strategy and innovation. At KPMG Innovation, both these worlds come together perfectly. I also chose for the practice due to its excellent position within the start-up and scale-up ecosystems. This connection is vital when supporting companies with innovation.”
Ellen van den Boogaart obtained a master’s degree in European Studies on Society, Science and Technology from Maastricht University. “While following an innovation specialisation at University of Oslo, I got excited about the many sides of innovation, from idea implementation to ecosystem approaches.”
Following her graduation, Van den Boogaart looked at several consultancies with a track record in the field, but quickly “was determined” to land a job at KPMG Innovation. “The team operates at the forefront of the industry, goes beyond idea generation and understands the agile characteristics of innovation. Also, the practice works with top clients, such as the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
Commenting on the new joiners, Richard Wagenmakers, Head of KPMG Innovation in the Netherlands, said: “Innovation is on the rise, and our team is expanding. We are delighted to have Carlo and Ellen on board.”
