Publicis Sapient buys Romanian software consultancy Tremend
Digital transformation company Publicis Sapient has acquired Tremend, one of the largest software engineering companies in Central and Eastern Europe.
Founded in 2005, Tremend has over the past 15+ years established itself as one of Romania’s largest success stories in professional services. From its base in Bucharest, Tremend has grown to a company of 650 professionals (mainly product engineers and technology specialists) serving big ticket clients including Carrefour, ING and Orange.
“Bringing Tremend into Publicis Sapient is a powerful expansion of our global distributed delivery model,” said Nigel Vaz, the CEO of Publicis Sapient.
Publicis Sapient’s distributed delivery model enables the firm to complement its project delivery teams on the ground at clients with a remote team working from the company’s delivery centres. By leveraging this model, Publicis Sapient can provide its clients with more business value (deeper expertise, flexible resourcing) while benefitting from the advantages of an agile and cost-effective layer of additional talent.
Vaz: “We’re impressed with Tremend’s vision, the breadth of its skillset and capabilities around agile engineering and its deep industry expertise.”
The bolt-on roughly doubles Publicis Sapient’s distributed delivery unit to 1,300 professionals. “And we expect to rapidly grow headcount to 2,500 people by 2025 as well as our geographic footprint in the region,” added Vaz.
“In a context of growing demand for digital business transformation, Publicis Sapient is scaling its expertise in Europe to better serve its clients,” remarked Arthur Sadoun, Chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe.
Tremend founders Ioan Cocan and Marius Hanganu said: “Our purpose has always been to engineer the best products through our amazing team for our partners and to better manage disruptions, accelerate growth and add new value to their brands in today’s rapidly changing world. Joining forces with Publicis Sapient help us propel our capabilities to achieve our ambition.”
