Xebia enters Swiss IT market with acquisition of SwissQ
Dutch professional services group Xebia has entered the Swiss IT consultancy market with the acquisition of SwissQ, a local firm with around 120 employees.
“This acquisition extends Xebia’s geographical reach into Switzerland and lifts our global headcount to over 4,000 staff,” said Andrew de la Haije, the CEO of Xebia.
Founded in 2006, SwissQ is a consulting and training firm that specialises in agile, product and technical engineering, and system testing. The firm is also well known locally for a number of flagship events it organises for the IT community in Switzerland, including Agile Leadership Day, Business Agility Day, DevOps Fusion, and Swiss Testing Day.
“Alongside bolstering our consulting services (over two thirds of its revenue stems from advisory offerings), SwissQ broadens our capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud, and DevOps, and fortifies our position in the thought leadership space through its leading technology conferences and online formats,” said De la Haije.
The deal sees Xebia continue a strong M&A campaign, having previously closed five deals in 2021: those of PGS Software in Poland (800 employees making it Xebia’s largest deal ever), G-company (70 employees) and Oblivion (40 experts) in the Netherlands, Appcino (150 professionals) in India, and CoMakeIT (250 professionals) internationally.
Meanwhile, for SwissQ, the joining of forces will allow the firm to provide more depth and breadth to its technology service offerings, said Adrian Zwingli, President of SwissQ. “By combining SwissQ’s capabilities and business network in Switzerland with Xebia’s technical expertise, we can offer uncompromising, full-stack digital transformation services and solutions for our clients in the DACH region.”
Beyond its several offices in Europe, Xebia also has hubs in the United States, Europe, India, Vietnam, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates.
