Marcus Hoffmann and Boris Kainz join Strategy&'s Automotive practice
Strategy& has strengthened its Automotive practice in Germany with the recruit of two new partners: Marcus Hoffmann and Boris Kainz.
Marcus Hoffmann, who is based in Munich, has been appointed co-leader of Strategy&’s Automotive practice in Europe. He brings over two decades of strategy and management consulting experience to the role, having previously served Bain & Company, Kearney, Deloitte and Roland Berger as a partner.
The 51-year-old specialised in advising automotive manufacturers and suppliers on corporate and growth strategies as well as transformation along the value chain, especially in sales and aftersales. Hoffmann also has experience in the development of innovative business models, cost reduction, the management of investment projects and mergers & acquisitions.
Boris Kainz (44) has been appointed a partner in the Automotive practice. Having served Volkswagen Group across a large number of senior roles, including in its consulting subsidiary Porsche Consulting, he brings more than 16 years of industry in management consulting experience to the firm.
Most recently, Kainz was a partner at Porsche Consulting for five years, where he advised automobile manufacturers globally on production and process strategies as well as transformation and reorganisation matters. He specialises in topics including cost reduction, efficiency programs, process optimisation and digital operations.
