FTI-BOLD – the Dutch arm of global consultancy FTI Consulting – has strengthened its Transformations practice with a four-strong team hire.

Paul Stoop, Marleen Swart, Niels Jansen and Joost van Hout all join from Ballentine, a boutique professional services firm based in Amsterdam. The quartet focus on strategic and management consulting services.

“We are delighted to welcome Paul and the team, who have built up a wealth of experience in business strategy and transformation,” said Gerrit van Munster, a Senior Managing Director at FTI-BOLD.

Stoop has over two decades of professional experience gained both in consulting as well as in industry. He previously served Boer & Croon as a partner, and worked for Accenture and PwC. Outside of consulting he held senior roles at Intertust, Sanoma, TMG and ABN Amro. Stoop is a Managing Director at FTI-BOLD.

Swart also served Boer & Croon, with previous Big Four experience under her belt. In between, she held several roles in industry. Jansen previously gained seven years in telecom, while Van Hout spent four years in food & beverage before joining Ballentine. The latter two have been appointed a Consultant at FTI-BOLD, while Swart joins as a Director.

“These hires reflect our continued focus on growing our Netherlands team in response to market demand,” said Van Munster.

“Major changes are taking place in the macroeconomy, not least due to the impact of technological innovations. Companies are responding to this through acquisitions and strategic reorientations. FTI-BOLD helps them to stay relevant in times of change by providing advice and support.”

Van Munster and Stoop both added that they see a strong cultural fit in the joining of forces. “Our approach closely mirrors the approach that Paul and the team have demonstrated for many years. That is why I am confident they will be a valuable addition to our team,” said Van Munster.

Stoop said: “We don’t advise our clients from the sidelines. We closely integrate with their business teams and execute alongside them. This is completely in line with the vision of FTI-BOLD.”

FTI-BOLD was founded in December last year when US-headquartered FTI Consulting (6,700 employees worldwide) acquired BOLD (30 consultants). The two firms opted for a dual-branding strategy in order to exemplify BOLD’s heritage in the market.
