BDO bundles firm-wide capabilities to launch BDO Sustainability
BDO has launched BDO Sustainability, a new division that brings together the firm’s sustainability and ESG services and solutions from across its business to provide clients with an end-to-end offering.
“With the launch of BDO Sustainability we are bundling and integrating all our relevant expertise in the field of sustainability,” explained Christopher Tower, who earlier this year was named the firm’s first ESG strategy and services leader.
The new division will lead BDO’s range of service offerings and solutions to help clients advance their ESG efforts, and oversee the integration of sustainable business practices into its suite of other services.
Leveraging the firm’s assurance expertise, BDO Sustainability will help organisations with meeting the reporting and compliance demands from shareholders and regulators, while the firm’s tax advisors will support with fiscal and taxation matters.
The largest chunk of BDO Sustainability’s sustainability work will be around helping clients with their decarbonisation ambitions, from strategy to execution. This is where the firm’s consultants come in – they help clients with developing net zero plans, greening their supply chain, making procurement more sustainable, and reducing the CO2 footprint of their operations.
Meanwhile, BDO’s dealmakers serving BDO Sustainability support clients with sustainability-focused deals, as well as closing investments in key sustainability segments such as clean tech and ESG monitoring.
Rounding off its proposition, BDO’s technology experts will support clients with tools and IT-solutions that can enable change – according to the global professional services firm, digitisation will play a crucial role in realising the goals from the Paris Agreement.
Commenting on the launch of the new division, Global CEO of BDO Keith Farlinger said: “We recognise the need to continually adapt our strategy, our service offering and the way we operate to meet the sustainability demands of all our stakeholders – our clients, our employees, our communities and our regulators – to protect our business and the interests of generations to come.”
Trond-Morten Lindberg, EMEA CEO at BDO, added: “Transforming businesses to meet the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and social inequality will be one of the greatest challenges of our time. At BDO, we have committed to supporting our clients on their sustainability journey, in addition to doing our part in rethinking our own business.”
